I Am A Woman

I am a warrior

I am strong 

I am immune 

To everything that can go wrong

I am a fighter

I am unique

I am learning

How to be a voice for the weak

We were neglected

So now need to be heard

You can't take from us again

What you did was absurd

A voice for the voiceless

A step forward

A new beginning 

A new fruit in history's orchard

If you were in our shoes

Wouldn't you do the same?

If you were in our shoes

Would you have happily taken the hate and the shame?

It's not just you 

Who has done something wrong

It's the whole society

That's been singing the now old song

We need to fight for our rights

While you have it all on a silver platter day and night

We beg and we plead

We starve and we bleed

We try with all our might 

But you ignore our cries and sleep peacefully at night

I am a thorn

I am a flower 

I am the force of god

I am natures true superpower
